Privacy Policy

The short version

  • We process your voice to give you feedback. We do not store your audio — not for free users, not for paid users.
  • Free practice keeps nothing. Once your feedback is generated, the session is gone — no audio, no transcript, no history.
  • Paid practice keeps the text, not the voice. We store a transcript and your scores so progress tracking works. We do not keep the audio.
  • We never sell your data, never use it to train AI models, and never share it with your school, employers, or recruiters.

The rest of this page is the same promises in detail. Questions: sagar@articulatespeech.io.

1.Who we are

Articulate ("Articulate," "we," "us") is an interview-practice product. You speak your answers to interview questions out loud, and we give you a feedback "receipt" on your content, flow, and delivery. The product lives at app.articulatespeech.io, and this site (articulatespeech.io) is where we describe it. This policy covers both.

It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email sagar@articulatespeech.io and a person will answer.

2.What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. In practice, that means:

  • Your voice, while you practice. Captured during a session and processed in real time to generate your feedback. See section 3 for exactly what happens to it.
  • Account details. If you create an account: your email address and basic settings. If you pay, our payment processor handles your card — we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Transcripts and scores (paid users only). The text of what you said and the feedback metrics, kept so progress tracking works.
  • Your email, if you join the updates list. Only the address, and only until you unsubscribe.
  • Basic usage data. Standard analytics about how the site and app are used (pages, rough device type, general location from IP). Not tied to your voice.

3.Your voice and audio — what actually happens

This is the part most apps are vague about, so here it is plainly:

  • We do not store your audio. Your recording is processed to produce your feedback and is not saved to our servers afterward. This is true for free and paid users alike.
  • Free practice: nothing is kept. Once your feedback is generated, the session is gone — no audio, no transcript, no history. Practice the same question ten times and we are not quietly building a file on you.
  • Paid practice: we keep the text, not the voice. So you can watch your filler words drop and your answers tighten over time, we store a text transcript and your scores. The audio they came from is not stored.
  • We never train AI models on your data. Not your audio, not your transcripts — for our models or anyone else’s.
  • No voiceprint, no biometric ID. We analyze what you said and how you said it, not who you are from your voice. We do not create a voiceprint or use your voice to identify you.
  • Processing runs through ElevenLabs. To turn speech into feedback in real time, your audio is processed by ElevenLabs’ conversational AI (see section 6), solely to deliver the practice session.

4.How we use what we collect

We use your information only to run and improve the product:

  • To generate your feedback and, for paid users, your progress over time.
  • To run your account, take payment, and send you the emails the service needs (receipts, password resets, the occasional product update if you asked for them).
  • To keep the service secure and working, and to fix it when it breaks.

If you are in the EU/UK: we rely on performing our contract with you to deliver the service, your consent for optional things like marketing emails and non-essential analytics, and our legitimate interest in keeping the product secure and working. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5.What we never do

  • We never sell your personal information, and we never share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We never share your recordings, transcripts, or scores with your school, employers, or recruiters.
  • We never use your data to train AI models.

6.Who helps us run it (subprocessors)

Running the product means trusting a few infrastructure providers. Each one only gets the data it needs to do its job, and is bound by its own data-protection terms. The current list:

  • ElevenLabs. Powers the live practice itself — its conversational AI agent is the interviewer’s voice, listens to your spoken answers, and turns them into your feedback. Your audio is processed here in real time.
  • Supabase. Our database — stores account data and, for paid users, transcripts and scores.
  • Vercel. Hosting and delivery for the site and app.
  • Resend. Sends the transactional and update emails.
  • Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity. Aggregate, privacy-respecting usage analytics (when enabled). See section 7.

We may add or change providers as the product grows; when we do, we update this list and keep the same standard — least data, no resale, no model training.

7.Cookies and analytics

We keep tracking light. We use a small amount of analytics to understand what is working on the site and app — which pages get visited, roughly what device, broad location. When enabled, that runs through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and it loads after the page is interactive so it does not slow you down. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not build a profile of you to sell. You can block cookies in your browser, and in the EU/UK we ask before loading non-essential analytics.

8.How long we keep things

  • Audio: Not stored. Processed in real time, then gone.
  • Free-session transcripts and history: Not stored.
  • Paid transcripts and scores: Kept while your account is open, so progress tracking works. Deleted when you delete them or close your account.
  • Account and email: Kept while your account is open, or until you unsubscribe / ask us to delete it.

9.Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Paid users can delete their transcripts and history from inside the app in one click — and when it is gone, it is gone, not soft-deleted or archived.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you also have the formal versions of these rights — including the right to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither), and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To use any of these, email sagar@articulatespeech.io and we will sort it out, normally within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection regulator, though we would rather you tell us first so we can fix it.

10.How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to the little we store is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but keeping almost no audio and minimal data is itself the strongest protection we can offer — we cannot lose what we never stored.

11.Where your data is handled

We and our providers are based in the United States, so if you use Articulate from outside the US, your information is processed in the US. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) for those transfers.

12.Children

Articulate is built for job-seekers, students, and early-career professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you are between 13 and 18, please use Articulate with a parent or guardian's awareness. If you believe a child under 13 has used the service, email us and we will delete the data.

13.Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. For anything significant, we will give you a heads-up by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Articulate after a change means you accept the updated policy.
